Exercising our right

to go out for a walk.....today we did go out for a walk, first time in 6 days!!

Slept ok, woke a few times, had a cuppa in bed, got up leisurely, washed & blow dried my hair.... noticed my roots are showing already!

Gorgeous blue skies today but definitely a bit cooller.....breakast in the summerhouse, listening to the gold finch singing in our big acer, the simple things :-)

We clocked up 8500 steps, dropped a parcel off at the Post Office.....then walked back the longer way, by St Thomas's Church, which I snapped on my phone for todays blip. There were a few people we passed, but everyone was mindful of the distancing.

Scrambled eggs on toast for lunch, then it was out into the garden. Hub cut the grass and painted one of the benches, whilst I began to tackle the pond.......what a job!! After an hour and a half of wrangling, cutting, pulling, Id only managed to clear a couple of feet, the root growth of the various plants have formed a mat about 6 inches thick intertwined with big tubers belonging to the irises!!! I ended up using a pruning saw to cut through things! You can see all the roots Ive removed in extras, if youre interested of course lol! Ive also included a pic of the treated decking too!

Roast chicken dinner this evening with carrots green beans, roast potatoes & gravy....we were certainly ready for it too!

Tv tonight, always enjoy a good giggle with Gogglebox.....thats after an hour with Monty Don first.
