Ready for painting
Now nearly all the materials have arrived I can start on the painting of the main parts of the 250 GTO. It's a long time (20 years or more) since I've done any airbrushing, and the old cheap airbrush and compressor were not operable, so I needed replacements. I never was much good at airbrushing, but of course the internet wasn't available in the way it is now, so I lacked the tutorials and advice which are readily available now. Of course, skill and experience are still needed, and I'm sure I'll have plenty of problems for quite a while. So far I've just applied a mist coat of primer to the main body, which has made me more aware of a seam between the front apron of the model and the main body, so I'll need to fill this and do a little bit more priming before I can get on to the Ferrari red to see how the colour looks, and I'm sure this will also show up my poor use of the airbrush even more.
