shire foal
Today has been pesky persistent showers and it didn't inspire me to go out. So when Lesley got a call from the farm shop to say her order was ready to pick up I decided to go along as well. It's only a 5 minute walk up the road but then there is a long driveway and they prefer callers to be in cars and follow their outdoor picking up procedure so we drove there. The farm is also a shire stud and we had noticed from our valley bottom walk yesterday that there could be the first foal of the year. Sure enough there was the proud mom and baby in the field alongside the drive, a cheery sight. As the foal was lying down I didn't see whether he/she had inherited moms 4 white legs, it's very important apparently,
I've also added a wren in extra from today's lockdown garden safari.
