Sunrise over Black Lake

Returning from the airport in the wee small hours this morning I had two things on my mind; sleep and what image to go for today. I was also not sure that once home and rested I would want to head out into the cold again so, with clear skies ahead of me (an unusual sight these days) and the sun starting to rise I stopped off on my way home.

This is Black Lake which sits in the centre of Lindow Common in Wilmslow and, although I've lived in the area for three years, it is the first time I have visited. Note to self.....need to go back.

Ok, it's not the most stunning image ever taken but I did like the light. What it doesn't reveal is that above me there were very dark clouds and, just as I was capturing this the rain started to come down hard.
