Magnolia monster

Well, Dad's been saying for a long time that the magnolia had outgrown its location by the front door.

(very happy to open the front door to find this seed pod shell spinning on a spider spinneret)

In other news, my sister - designated forager for this house - returned today with oatmeal (preferred for porridge) and husked mung beans (a possible alternative to red lentils).
