Today's challenge successfully completed

About this time last year I demolished a summerhouse/ it almost fell down on its own. Ever since then we have been saying we need to tidy up the base area and re-turf it. Well with nothing else to do outside the garden I decided now was the time. Well, for some reason or another, nobody can provide me with turf (I was offered artificial stuff but thought it would not be appropriate)
So a ton bag of top soil, a box of grass seed (guaranteed to grow and guaranteed not to be eaten by birds) a bit of raking, dragging the roller around and digging up lots of bits of netting later - job done. I await the results with interest, if with little expectation of a good outcome initially.
The chickens spent their first day in confinement, they objected to it loudly but still eat their corn. Only one egg though
