Blackthorn

It is a very strange name for this shrub with white flowers, but of course it is the wood that is dark - but cannot be seen. As a shrub it is a contrast with the new green leaves of the hawthorn that surrounds it. All the hedges are beginning to come alive to the spring- but the weather is still very variable - there was a very cold wind today.
