As I've been out every day this week, I thought I'd have a day at home catching up on a few jobs. After last night's heavy snowfall (over 6 inches), the thaw set in. I was tempted to go out for what might be the last opportunity for a while to make the most of the snowy setting, but resisted. I'm hoping the thaw will be quick as persistent slush and even worse, black ice are not so much fun. My first job of the day was to do my daily BTO Garden Birdwatch, and as today is the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, I extended my count to an hour to include this too. Mostly the usual suspects, but the greenfinch, although not unusual was probably the least frequent of our visitors at the moment, so he gets the blipspot.
