Nemesis no longer!

I have found a use for all those dandelion flowerheds I  keep picking - Dandelion Syrup! I remembered from my foraging walk at Port Eliot last year him telling us they made a syrup that tasted like butterscotch and evolybab  sent me a link on how to make dandelion jelly! So after doing the hens I went foraging on my allotment. Unfortunatly the last time I had done such a good job picking the flowerheads there were not enough so I had to go onto my neighbours plot and pick his! ( Dave if you are reading this please tell me you haven't sprayed them with weedkiller?!!)Whilst I was there The Married Couple arrived and I offered them some eggs. They are a lovely couple and he always calls me Sweetie! I was telling him about my humming The Great Escape and he said he had Ghost Town by The Specials in his head! Anyone else got any songs for The Lockdown Top Ten?!!
Come the evening I set about doing the syrup - wash and dry the heads then cut off the green part and place the petals in water, boil for 30 secs- 1minute then allow to soak overnight. Well I can't tell you how long it took to release the petals from 150 dandelion heads!  Quite a meditative past time at least. Will let you know how stage 2 and the end result goes tomorrow!
