Showboating

Picked up this cigar box at a charity shop today. It was made for a company called J&J Cash in Coventry by woodworkers from the Tatra Mountains in Poland.
Cash, which was founded in the 1840s, was best known for its woven products, especially ribbons, and the woven picture of the river steamboat Robert E Lee is pretty striking.
There is a bit of a sad story surrounding the boat. It was built in Indiana in 1866 but less than 20 years later was destroyed in a fire near New Orleans, killing 21 passengers.
