Lamport
The snow promised for last night never materialised. We got rain instead, and the thaw is now well under way. That's just as well really because we were visiting G's mum and dad in Northampton today.
Our journey always takes us past the attractive Northamptonshire village of Lamport, and today we pulled in briefly to take this photo looking towards the village from the main road.
There are three listed buildings in this photo. In the centre, the Grade I listed Church of All Saints dating from the 12th Century. On the left, mostly obscured by a tree, the Grade II listed Old Rectory built in the early 18th Century. On the right the Grade I listed Lamport Hall, home of the Isham family for over 400 years.
