That’s allotment number one completed

Accomplished day at allotments lifted and harvested leeks and Kale (shucking in some for later harvest). There was so much kale: some was left at the allotments’ gate for folks to help themselves! Foxgloves and daisies were lifted and will be planted at home.

The area was then double dug incorporating the contents of 3 compost bins. Small mange-tout pea plants, started at home, were transplanted and areas planted were carefully hoed. Glad to note that some of the seed sown ten days ago has started to emerge despite the lower than usual temperatures for the time of year.
