Magnolia
This magnolia has been a bit blown about over the last week or so I probably should have blipped it before. Today seemed quite timely because 'Magnolia Wind' is the title of one of many great songs recorded by American singer/songwriter John Prine who sadly died today or maybe yesterday as his obituary reached our papers today.
He didn't write this song, it was a tribute to another songwriter, Guy Clark but it's a great duet with Emmylou Harris. If you don't know his work, I'm sure you'd be impressed by his raspy voice and his often humorous observations of the human condition.
We'll be out to clap the NHS, the keyworkers and the people of our village who work so hard to keep things going. There are various groups of musicians in the village intending to sing and play a few verses of 'Over the Rainbow' while remaining safely isolated. I shall be on the balcony with a ukelele and hoping to hear some of the others down below.
