Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2020 Thursday — Emillia Leigh

Our granddaughter Desiree posted a series of photos of Emillia this morning. Des was excited because Emillia let mommy style her hair, and I guess she usually doesn’t like that. These are two shots from a series of five captures. Emillia was 14 months old on April 3.

Desiree is doing a terrific job of “isolating-at-home” with her three kids while her hubby is deployed with the U.S.Navy. His ship is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and they are not docking anywhere because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Here at the home front, I spent my afternoon doing something that I think of as an elective — something I want to do, not have to do. I went through my collection of greeting cards and found some Easter cards. I spent my afternoon addressing envelopes and writing notes to friends. I absolutely love receiving real mail and even more I love sending notes and letters.

Especially in this time of isolation, I wanted to send pretty cards to a few elderly folks that I know would especially enjoy receiving them. I also sent them to some of my friends my age right here in our town because we are all shut-in and hopefully receiving real mail will bless them as well.

So tomorrow I need to get back to organizing some paperwork. I am finding that retiring from my career requires volumes of forms and more and more paper. So all of that needs to be filed. I don’t consider that type of work an elective; it’s a job. Okay, enough from me!

Good night from a cold, rainy SoCal,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
& Chloe and Mitzi
