Good Friday 2020: Hot Cross Buns

As there's just the two of us this year I only made a very small batch of hot cross buns - 4 in total.  There are only 3 here as we've eaten one already, well it is Good Friday. They're actually quite large so Cathy and I generally share one between the two of us, so they will last us over the Easter weekend without any problem.  Cathy has also made the simnal cake, which looks and smells as though it is going to be ... "another triumph".

It has been another gloriously sunny day here.  I sat outside in the early morning sunshine with the laptop to do my Spanish lessons, with a cup of coffee.  It's a great way to start the morning.  

We managed to speak to Dad on the phone at the care home late this afternoon, but he really isn't making much sense now, although he did at least know who we were and was pleased that we had phoned.  They have the ability to Skype, but Dad actually seems to find it easier to deal with a more old fashioned telephone call.
