Deceptively sunny

Don't let the blue sky fool you - it was sunny for just a few spare moments; most of today was filled with fast-moving clouds, fierce wind, and snow squalls. I worked in the yard for a couple hours, and it was quite refreshing. This shows the leatherleaf viburnum in almost full bloom. 

Checked in again with family in Seattle, and with my former neighbor who heads the pediatric department of a hospital in DC and organizes a lot of neighborhood outreach. We exchanged quick texts of flowers in our yard - "small things keep us smiling," she said.
