Above Meiringen

A gloriously sunny day in the Swiss Alps and a trip to the Alpen Tower at 2250m above the town of Meiringen in the Haslital ski area.

Unfortunately no skiing for me these days but there are several walking trails through the thick crunchy snow with panoramic views all around.

Being Sunday the local ski,snowboarders and tobogganers were having a great time in the sunshine on the almost empty slopes.

We enjoyed a walk down between gondoler stations followed by a lazy lunch out on a restaurant sun terrace until it was time to take the cable car back down to the town.

Slightly different day tomorrow with a trip to Lucerne.
