Labour Of Love

Over twenty years ago Clare’s mother gave us a collection of ‘pre-loved’ toys that had belonged to John, Mark and Clare. In amongst them were a Manmod Steam Engine and a Manmod Te1A Steam Tractor. For years that have sat on various shelves, untouched and not fired up.
Today I made a start on the steam engine, cleaning the dust off, removing rust, oiling and freeing the working parts. By lunch time all the rotating parts were clean and working, the pressure relief valve and reversing gear all free.
Still a way to go but looking forward to firing them up.

Really lovely roast lamb dinner but maybe an excess of chocolate through the day.
