Shy winter beauty

This mahonia flower was well hidden amongst its prickly leaves and has a very strong perfume similar to lily of the valley.

I dashed out to blip it while cooking a Sunday lunch for the family. This was postponed from last weekend and the shoulder of lamb didn't suffer for a week in the freezer. Because it was George's birthday treat he was able to demand Yorkshire puddings and home made bread sauce with his lamb. We've had a good day and enjoyed the young company.
