Chequered
The cold north wind today meant that it was difficult to find bugs to photograph. I managed this, which I think might be Melanostoma scalare, the chequered hoverfly. It's on greater stitchwort which I love. We have a bank smothered in it and I spend ages there with Ollie dog bug hunting. I saw a few cuckoo bees and some speckled wood butterflies and hope to feature them soon.
An EasyJet plane flew over on the way to Stansted. I was surprised as I thought they had grounded their fleet. It had come from Geneva.
