Isolation

Oops! When we skyped my sister to say thanks for the Easter generosity, my son remarked that we’d drop by and say hello on our bike ride. I thought to myself, that’s a bit mean, lifting her hopes like that when we have no real intention of breaking our rigorous isolation rules by then what do you know...

We rode to Scrivener Dam and turned left to Westin Creek, an excellent ride but busier than we’d thought it would be. After passing the RSPCA and seeing the enticing sign to Holder, we couldn’t resist the siren song of my sister. The plan was a quick cup of tea (with the melting moments Mike had made in the morning) but it was 12.30 and we couldn’t resist the offer of a light lunch of gimmes and biscuits.

Her lithops are really coming on although we missed the best of the flowering.

We did an Easter Hunt (with the gifts from my sister and parents, we’re too stingy) in the morning. It was meant as a covid surprise, the kids are really too old. I had to wake my daughter at 8 and I sent my son out to put out the washing to make discovering them a fun surprise. He was so unexcited I thought he hadn’t seen them and eventually sent out my daughter (a far greater chocolate talent) to “help”. He responded of course he’d seen them, just wanted to get the washing out before he told his sister (who didn’t help with the washing)

Woke with a headache, didn’t realise it was becoming a migraine till too late and spent the afternoon in bed. Bored, got up and watched my daughter’s pick for TV that night (Shazam) - another full day of nauseating, tear inducing, agony t follow!
