Double whammy!
Our morning walk, on another glorious day, took us into the St Ives Estate dropping by Coppice Pond first to feed the ducks.
Not a lot around and mainly male Mallards, a fewTufted ducks, Canada Geese, a Moorhen and two Coots. Nesting is obviously going on and certainly so with the swans on the island. No sign of the young swan from last year’s brood.
We walked on hoping to see the Little Owls and we did though one flew off almost as soon as we arrived. They are so distant it’s hard to tell, other than their location, till they move. My shot is as good as I can get at the distance.
Whilst watching from more than one location Chris spotted this little Wren collecting dry moss from the wall top and disappearing between the stones, presumably to its nest, further down the wall. Delightful to see. They move so fast again it is difficult to get a crisp shot with a hand held camera. Never mind I was thrilled to see them both and use them for my blip.
On the golf course the flag on the 18th hole is an NHS flag in support of NHS Thursday - See you all out clapping tonight!
