For David
A dull and cooler start to the day but as we set out to walk it started to brighten up.
A shorter walk was required as Chris wanted to get on with cutting the lawns and then go shopping. I specifically wanted to photograph the bluebells which are now everywhere in the woods after I photographed my first sighting just over a week ago. As ever they are very ethereal and quite difficult to capture, nothing like seeing their beauty in reality.
I’ve chosen this one as it also shows the lovely fresh greens appearing now giving a lovely green haze when you look at the woodlands from a distance.
Lots of other flowers as we walked to and from the village including the lovely beds where we queued outside the butchers. The cherries I took last Friday are now being echoed by the trees on one of the other roads leading out of the village, always a little later.
Sad news arrived not long after lunch. A gentlemen who we first knew as deputy head at our children’s Middle School and who went on to be a friend through am drams and photography, has sadly died.
He took excellent photos of my daughter in her Cross Country running days and as recently as our village Panto in February he was taking his usual excellent shots of the performance.
He will be much missed by Players groups both here and in nearby Keighley. It’s even sadder, in the current climate, that we won’t be able to attend his funeral.
RIP David
