Captain Tom Moore

Captain Tom Moore planned to walk 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday to raise funds for the NHS, expecting to reach £1000 at most. His story caught the imagination of the public and by the time he completed his challenge early this morning he had raised £12 million, a total that has been rising all day, currently £15 million.

I watched with admiration as the BBC covered his last lap, accompanied by a guard of honour from the Yorkshire Regiment.
