Lavender
This lavender was outside the post office where I'd gone to post a card for my niece's birthday, and where I sat down for a short rest after a nearly 3-hour 'exercise' + 'buying essential supplies' walk ... The main aim was to buy a joint of lamb to roast, an absolutely essential part of Greek Easter which is coming up this weekend. But everyone seemed to have had the same idea a bit earlier and lamb was in very short supply. I finally found some at the 3rd butcher I went to, quite a way from home. I also dropped in at the PO sorting office and picked up a pile of letters and small packets for our block. We haven't had a regular postal delivery service in our area since the financial crisis when so many were laid off, and unless someone from the block goes to the sorting office, our mail only comes about once a month.
The weather turned lovely and sunny while I was out though a cold wind. I love the Greek expression for this kind of weather which translates as 'sun with teeth'.
