BOSS is a brand name of canned and plastic bottled coffee sold in Japan. This advert was on a vending machine at a petrol station near my house.

I captured this not because I like this particular brand of coffee but because I had been thinking about the use of 'since.' I thought I knew a lot about the word; but when it comes to teaching it to students, I somehow felt like having no idea. Well that happens all the time even when you talk about your mother tongue, still less another language.
