January light

Had my good friend Fliss up from the big smoke this week end. Cooking late lunch this arvo I was struck by the beautiful light streaming in from the kitchen window, onto the butternut squash I was carving up.

Squash + green veg board + sunlight = blip

Was just captivated by the brilliance of all the colours together.

I cooked a butternut squash risotto with fougasse and herb bread; warm roast veg, rocket and goats cheese salad with honey-mustard dressing, followed by my speciality steamed chocolate sponge pudding with hot chocolate sauce.

Fat, full and happy.
