A Daisy a Day
It would be lovely if a daisy a day could drive the snow away! However, just to have this Gerbera daisy bloom was enough to make me smile. I loved the first generation blooms from this plant last year and am always sad to see the last bloom fade away. I decided to try hard to see if I could get it to bloom again and bloom it has! Such a gorgeous rich colour, though not a very large size. I will have to research it to see if there is a way to get larger flowers. In the mean time, I will enjoy the burst of colour.
Today I video chatted for a total of four hours...straight. Two Zoom's and a Skype, followed by two hours of online workshop by Sue Bryce (my all time favourite portrait photographer). My biggest takeaway from today's workshop was how to use ISO to my advantage. I have been shooting in manual for some time, but always set ISO to auto. In my head, I knew that the closer to 100 you are, the better, but couldn't be asked. Sooooo....this daisy was shot with my new knowledge and loads of playing with settings.
This evening I am thinking of the victims and their families in Nova Scotia. It is unsettling to think of how easily one person can end the lives and dreams of so many people.
Take care.
