Not quite what it seems

My morning walk - first for a while - took me down a bridleway on the edge of the village, and to this place.
NOT a castle: it's actually a farm. But if you look closely, you will see that it stands on a square platform - and this is Norman in origin. There USED to be a castle/wee fortlet here!
There is also the remains of a pond, where some bones and one or two mediaeval items were found.
Extra is the cat door in one of the outbuildings, although they told me they don't now have any cats.
It was lovely walking past the cattle barn, with the sweet smell of fodder, etc, coming out... but I don't mind the "etcetera"!
