So there I was sitting on the patio today enjoying the sunshine in these uncertain times when I heard a slight squeaking sound coming from the hedgerow. Creeping quietly to the hedge with the camera I was astonished to
see a hen Great Rusted Wrench bird feeding her hatchlings. A rare site outside as they are normally found in an enclosed oil and petrol loaded environment.
Trust you are feeling as sane as I do..............
Unfortunately I cannot take the credit for the above or the photograph as it was sent to me by Richard a Bentley Drivers Club Friend. Now whether he took the photograph I don't know but the narrative does sound like his.
Well I had a great day with the Bentley as there was only a tiny bit of rubbing down and the majority of the day was taken masking off and spraying another coat of etching primer. It was a bit on the windy side but as its just the undercoat I took the risk and I'm glad to say it paid off as I must say even in primer its looking rather good. All the filling and rubbing down has certainly paid dividends. Tomorrow l will be flatting off the primer coat with grade 600 grit wet and dry. This will probably take most of the day but if there is some time left over I will start to rub down and fill if necessary the headlights. If all goes well on Thursday I should be able to spray the high build undercoat. I enjoy spraying and the Lidl spray gun works well but it has a tendency to drip paint now and then from the trigger mechanism which doesn't matter to much with the undercoat but certainly not the top coat. Hopefully my new gun will arrive before Thursday so can practice using it with the undercoat.
