Covenanters' Monument, Stirling
This star pyramid was erected in the 19th century as a monument to the covenanters who died for their religious freedom and beliefs. It stands on a rock overlooking the Old Town cemeteries and below the walls of the Castle esplanade. It is an imposing feature especially on a bright sunny day but today it looked cold, grim and foreboding...perhaps befitting the characters of many of the people it commemorates.
It has been another miserable January day.
For any one inteested I have put a couple of shots of one of our local paths in my Blipfolio as a start on my "paths" project. Will add and delete from time to time.
