Avenue along the river...
providing shelter from the hot sun today and in winter it shelters walkers from the snow. Underfoot it is soft and silent.
Another lovely hot, sunny day with Sandpipers all along the river and, on approach through the woods all the small birds were chorusing.
A very welcome sighting was that of our first Swallow, back from Africa. (extra)
Peacock and Tortoiseshell butterflies were profuse, Curlew bubbled, Oystercatchers squealed, Lapwings peesieweeped and Goldeneye buzzed.
Another wonderful day.
