Saturday: Garden Reorganised
Weather pleasant, warm, overcast at times and sunny intervals too.
Gooseberry bush in square planter on the left has had a good layer of compost added, rocket seedlings planted and Kohlrabi seeds scattered as a follow on crop, covered in net for a few days to protect from crazy birds, pests and weather!
Square green planter to the right is the salad I’ve been cropping for months.
Covered square planter next to salads has mixed lettuce seedlings and carrot seeds “Mr James’ Scarlet Intermediate” from Thomas Etty - I’ve had no success with carrots in the past ...
On the ground under the conical netting are climbing beans “Cobra” from the seed swap, almost 100% germination https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2693188467961104507
Garden was like a minefield this morning, many blackbird chicks scratching under the plants, rooting in the compost bin and jumping out when I wasn’t expecting them! They went into the greenhouse and knocked a pile of flower pots over ...
Our neighbours have been very helpful, family across the road had compost from the village, MrD followed suit and got 6 bags for £30. Caryl got GF flour, many thanks, baking is go!!
More family history of the mariners from up the road this evening, making some progress.
Stay healthy and happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
