Pyrrhula pyrrhula

Was so pleased to see this beautiful Bullfinch as I walked along the lane close to our house.  I am afraid he is slightly hidden by the bramble branch.
The wee lane which is an old railway track is fantastic for birds as it has a slightly wild, left to its own devices habitat.  We often walk along it in the evening listening to the bird song and watching the many blackbirds, blue tits and sparrows.
Pyrrhula means flame-coloured which is exactly right.
