(Dis)Harmony
This photo tells a story of the patient mother; in control of all that surrounds her, with her happy, perfect little cherubs (metaphorically) eating from the palm of her hand; right?...
Wrong!...
In this picture is a mother who realised at 4pm that she & her (incredibly frustrated & angry) children absolutely HAD to have a change of scene from the house and with the help of a home learning task, decided that Mrs Owl totally needed to go and read her favourite book in a special location (the oldest stone circle in England, apparently).
The mother in this picture woke up today to realise the weather had turned- how could it be 10 degrees today? That’s half of what it’s been for what feels like ages... and though she tried so, so hard to fend off the oncoming slump; it hit her. She felt terrible for her self-indulgence- people are dying of a virus...for god’s sake, get some perspective! But being prone to analysis & evaluation of EVERYTHING, she began to try to understand the slump:
1. When one has experienced huge levels of oxytocin and happiness, it is natural for there to follow a dip in mood.
2. When one starts to feel really great and upbeat about things, one begins to look round corners anticipating that it probably won’t last and some obstacle of some form will come rolling into the path soon.
3. It was sunny. Now it’s not. That’s crap.
4. I have absolutely, without a doubt, eaten far too much chocolate in April.
After careful evaluation of the above four points, I can definitely do something about 3 of them and as my Mum tells me, the sun will be back next week and her garden needs some moisture.
Stay happy, stay healthy, give a lot of love.
