Handsome 'paca
Was spoilt for choice with blips again today. We decided to head out on the bikes early to check out the opposite end of the Great Northern Railway trail. It was a really lovely bike ride and felt like we'd gone somewhere 'new' which is pretty good at the moment.
This handsome alpaca was hanging out near the bottom of the biggest climb of the ride, hanging out with their pal (see extras). I'm a huge fan of all things llama / alpaca and pretty much squealed when we spotted these two relaxing in a field. The views were lovely again today (two extras today!) but the alpaca got it. Was a good day for exotic wildlife with the guinea fowl also out and about at our end of the trail.
We have a working theory about fellow cyclists on the road - we always try and say a friendly 'hi' or 'morning', pretty much every cyclist with flat bars will respond, those with drops bars, you got about a 50/50 chance of a response. If you spot someone all kitted out in castelli, you're pretty much guaranteed to be ignored. The husband said that it might be because he looks like he's having a cycling identity crisis - all of his clothes are road gear and he's been out on his mountain bike which, granted does look a little odd, but there might be something in it as generally I get more hellos when I'm out on my own...
Time to scrub the bike and clean the rabbit out, if the weather holds off
