Amaryllis bud

I have had three Amaryllis in pots on the balcony for some years now and despite fairly consistent neglect they seem to flower year after year. It is lovely to see the huge buds forming and starting to open.
Today was a quiet day and I couldn't muster up the enthusiasm to do anything very constructive. I enjoyed a walk though and was pleased to see the three kittens playing in the bushes in the school yard. They looked very well fed and healthy. Their mum was there too and was very happy to be stroked.
Tomorrow is the first day of the staged easing of the lockdown here, with small shops allowed to open and free movement allowed within the region. But noone I know is planning to do anything different from last week - people are still too wary to take any risks. The advice is still to stay home as much as possible and avoid public transport unless absolutely essential.
