Busy as a bee
Checked my girls today - thrilled Queen Bee is very busy now laying eggs & getting her depleted stock of worker bees built up for the forthcoming season. See extra photo - she is to be seen somewhere with a red dot on her head.
While I was sawing wood, Angie came by holding a very dead looking bird. She had heard a massive crashing sound and discovered it on the ground, no doubt having hit a window. Looked to be young. I put it in a box with some water and in a quiet spot safe from the cats & every 15 minutes tried dribbling some water on its beak - it did seem to swallow. After bout an hour, went to check and it had flown off. That was rewarding.
Evening walk. bumped into (relative in social distancing times) MrB out walking his younger dog Gretchen who was extremely playful but Luna would have none of it, just doing her normal growling act. Shame. MrsB works in a local hospital and has already been tested for the Corona virus twice, just because one of the patients in the hospital showed symptoms - all proved negative.
Finally see the parish is also making a nice autobahn out of the old field track shown in an earlier Blip. Not only was it full of deep ruts but tractors had also been wandering off the track and onto other people's fields. Now the property rights are clear.
