Picus viridis
I see green woodpeckers occasionally on the moor, but it has only ever been a flash of bright green, but not tonight. Walking back down Moor edge, I spotted a bird in the grass which then flew off onto a tree in the distance. We spent ages watching it. Sadly it was a little out of reach of my lens, but I’m still a happy girl. I now know this one is an adult female.
No deer in the usual field, but we spotted one sat in the next field away. Again just a little too far away for a great photo but still great to see.
Did some more clearing out of my studio, baked some very nice sourdough bread , and did a bit of gardening. There are worse ways of spending self isolation.
