Keep the red flag flying

The latest Celtic Connections concert tonight was entitled Songs of Struggle and was a bit of a throwback to the days when left-wing socialist anthems seemed to have a purpose.
And where better than Glasgow to have a concert like this? The history of the city and the struggles of the working-class movement are intertwined. Although the songs don't sound so relevant nowadays, we should never forget why they were written.
The musician in the picture is Rab Noakes. Others on stage were Sheena Wellington, Alistair Macdonald, Dave Anderson and Arthur Johnstone.
