Female House Sparrow (Passer domesticus)

Just for a change from flowers, a bird!  A busy day in the garden, recycling it is amazing just how many jobs you can find after neglecting the garden a bit and having had three flooding events in the last 6 months.  I wish the council would open the centre, the government has aid they can, but it is still closed.

When I was a lad we were swamped by House Sparrows, not any more!  There was a population crash in the 80s and 90s and now there are less than 1/3 of what there was start of the 80s.  The strange position is because she is eyeing up the feeders hanging above prior to flying up to them,
