Celebrity statistician

We watch the Government press conference on Covid 19 every day to keep track of the latest news on the epidemic. Today we were surprised and pleased to see that Ian Diamond, who is the Government chief statistician formed part of the press conference. I remember him as a lecturer in statistics at Southampton University many years ago when I was a student before his meteoric rise to better things! He was known for his Hawaiian shirts, I was sorry to see him dressed rather more somberly today! He’s always been a direct speaking sort of person which is just what we need at the moment.
