Sally Mair - Loving life

New turf

What a beautiful day today. Sadly we couldn't sit in the garden as our new patch of turf was laid first thing. This meant that the sprinkler was in use for long sessions over the rest of the day. We won't really be using the back lawn until June I suppose, if we want the turf to settle well, but we'll see how things go.
In other news, I scrubbed the fronts of several of the kitchen units which seemed to have got stained, refreshed the fish tank which seems to take the best part of an hour and went for a walk with Colin.
We had our weekly evening prayer service on Zoom this evening. It's always good to have a quiet time amidst the bustle. We've got a batch of chicken stock made so it'll be soup making tomorrow.
It's Thursday evening so we were out along with our neighbours, clapping for carers, for the NHS, and all essential workers. Our FM yet again proved her mettle today by extending the lockdown in Scotland. I'm so relieved, it's not comfortable, it's not nice, for some it's very lonely, but I do believe that at the moment it is what we need to do to keep safe.
Keep well and safe everybody, and stay at home as much as you can.
