Unexpected Overnight Visitor
Yesterday, while Mrs SoL was working near our swimming pool, I was in the kitchen preparing dinner when something caught my eye. A cat was slinking past the door. It saw me and ran into the guest accommodation. I looked for it, but could not find it. Mrs SoL tried to claim I was winding her up, but looked for it as well and did not find anything. We figured that it had escaped while I was trying to find it. Well, this morning, I decided to have a systematic walk through the house, checking each room carefully, then closing the door. After a few rooms, I arrived in the storage eaves room. There it (she) was. She didn’t seem too scared of me, in fact, she was very pleased to see me. She had found a place to sleep overnight on a box under an old table. Purring like mad and rubbing around my legs was an indication that she belonged to someone. She followed me down to the kitchen. I tried to offer some tuna and a bowl of water. Not interested (so not that hungry then). Mrs SoL appeared and at last believed me! We let her outside and put food down for her. She hung around for a while, still ate nothing, and has since disappeared. I assume that she was just on a wander. We are keeping our eyes open in case she comes back.
Overall, a quiet day. Happy VE Day everyone.
