Orange Tip

When the male orange tip and brimstone butterflies first appeared they were frantically patrolling looking for females and hardly ever settled. Over the past few days they've calmed down a bit and I've got nice shots of brimstones, which are perfectly camouflaged when they rest amongst the young green leaves. I was pleased when this orange tip alighted on a vetch flower right next to me today.

Quite a good day for bug hunting. I photographed a cinnamon bug, a red damselfly and a magnificent golden-bloomed grey longhorn beetle. I found a pied shieldbug which looked a bit different and wondered whether it might be a Rambur's.
