The Vennel

The Vennel is the local name for the Kirk Lane Cemetery which is one of the oldest in Glasgow. Vennel apparently means passageway. Somewhere in the grave the daughter of Robert Burns is buried – Betty Thomson. A future task is to locate it, the site isn’t that large and there is a reference to the poet on the headstone.

A day of mixed messages from the UK govt, and one of clarity and reassurance from the FM who just gets more credible every day.
