VE Weekend
Groundhog Day 48 of COVID-19 UK lockdown.
VE day is officially 8 May in the UK but the May Day Bank Holiday was put back to this date to celebrate VE (Victory in Europe of the end of WW2) as it's the 75th anniversary. The UK celebrations extend the weekend an some streets have held parties with 'social distancing' rules in place.
Today is the oldest son's 36th birthday and I haven't seen him for over two months due to the UK lockdown. As he doesn't live far away I dropped some presents over to him - a brewing kit, a bottle of JD and some money to get a take-away meal for him and girlfriend tonight.
I was delighted to see that he had a large Welsh flag outside his house and the street was decorated in bunting for the VE celebrations. I've taken a few film photo's of some streets that have caught my eye with VE decorations.
