Another quite ride this morning with very few people about and afterwards I boiled another successful egg for breakfast.
The weather was a lot colder than last week as the wind had got up and it looked all day as if it was going to rain. It was not a day for painting the Bentley. So I kicked off the day by making a wind turbine out of used 2 litre pop bottles. I'd seen one of theses wind mills on a campsite we stayed at a couple of years ago and when we returned I did try to unsuccessfully make one. But today after a few attempts and modifications I managed to make one that actually turned in the wind. I know there are some on YouTube that I could have copied but I wanted the challenge of making it my own way based on the one ud seen. Afterwards I took the air filter and carburettor off the Flymo. The carb was dirty so my original modification to the air filter although better did not fully work so I came up with another design using the plastic lid off a jar and a fine stainless steel gauze that I'd bought for but did not used on the Bentley. Fingers crossed my new air filter will work well. In any event the Flymo started second pull after I'd cleaned the carburettor.
Next I made a small shelf above the resited air compressor hose reel in my shed so I can now keep my smaller air tools to hand. After a bit more cleaning up of the Motor House I decided to return indoors to make myself a leather holster to hold my smartphone on my belt. I like sewing leather on Ros' old hand sowing machine and after an hour and a half and a little bit of thought I had an acceptable holster finished just in time before the boys Skyped.
They have all gained their parents bad habit of having a glass of Prosecco on Sunday as we all toasted one other on Skype. Hayden has bought the kids one of those large ten metre swimming pools which holds 4,500 litres of water. Hayden being Hayden had already devised a solar heating system made from 75 metres of water pipe.
So this week's review of imprisonment is the same as last I'm afraid. We are still enjoying being at home without the distraction of going out other than Ros' shopping spree on a Wednesday. I must admit there was I said a pang of sadness when I started up my fleet of cars on Thursday and heard the rumble of the V8's and could not take them out for a spin. I don't think Boris' announcement today will make any difference to us as we do not want to go out with the possibility of getting caught up in a second wave. We have taken the view that we will see how others get on and lag one stage behind.
