The Corona Diaries, day #57
Out!
But still counting... I started the lockdown diary count from the first day of no school, so I'll end it on the first day they go back.
Which is the day after tomorrow for the first (the youngest!).
So, first day with our restrictions eased. Still limitations on how far we can travel (100km - appears you can go anywhere for your exercise in the UK, as long as you come home by bedtime?!) but more shops and businesses opening, more public transport running, etc.
No bars, cafés or restaurants, no gatherings of more than 10 people at once, shops still limiting the number of people that can go in, and masks recommended or indeed mandatory on public transport. Also compulsory to go masked into the bank now!
Anyway, we walked into the village to for veg and bread this morning... as I've done frequently over the last few weeks, the only difference being Gaël and Tess came with me. Because they could.
It's a small village, with few people about and the other two stayed outside the shops as I went in, so I think we were doing the distancing right!
And this afternoon, we all went out for a drive to let the kids loose in the forest. I haven't been more than 2km from home in two months, and the kids less than that. We didn't cross a soul in the woods so it still felt like just us in our little bubble, but definitely appreciated the change of scenery. And the scent ... the scent of the forest, how the light falls - have missed all that!
