Horse Chestnut

Ventured out in the car today - all of a mile, to the pharmacy and back - would have walked but it was cold and windy, and the car needed to be moved too after 8 weeks of non-use. The full tank of diesel will last a long time at this rate!  These magnificent trees are opposite the church. There was a lovely avenue of them but several were cut down about 3 years ago and only 3 or 4 are left (but the felled ones have been replaced with more young ones than were were lost). Lots of 'candles' promise many conkers in the autumn.
